Kids learn best when they do not even realize they are studying. This hands-on session provides a pattern to help afterschool educators weave critical math and literacy skills directly into the activities children naturally choose. You will learn to turn everyday play, crafts, and games into high-impact learning moments. Participants will roll up their sleeves and experience these joyful, "stealth-learning" activities firsthand. You will leave with a practical toolkit of activities that spark curiosity, preserve child autonomy, and seamlessly boost academic confidence, motivation and understanding.

What happens when we stop asking, “What’s wrong?” and start asking, “What’s possible?” Explore the power of Positive Youth Development (PYD) and discover practical ways to help young people build confidence, belonging, relationships, and a sense of purpose. Through engaging activities and real-world examples, you’ll leave with simple strategies you can put into practice right away to create programs where every young person has opportunities to thrive.

This presentation will lead the attendees through what the Window of Tolerance is and how it impacts students' behavior in the classroom. Attendees will be given the science behind regulation of students and self, what happens when students' environment moves beyond their own windows and how to better help students stay within their own windows so that learning can occur.
